My Little Pony Love and Friendship chapter 4

Derpy Hooves was inside her home to avoid the winter storm, she had already started a fire in her fireplace and had put a blanket over herself to help her warm up again. As Derpy looked out her window she was very glad she was not in the storm anymore. She started to relax a little when a thought struck her mind, 'what if somepony was stuck outside?' The warmth of the fire in front of her was very inviting compared to the cold outside, but in Derpys heart she knew that the possibility of leaving somepony outside while she was safe inside was not something she could ignore. After grabbing her winter wears Derpy went back out into the raging winter storms in order to help whoever needed it.

Rarity was trying to head to the rendezvous point, but her progress back across Ponyville was quite slow. Rarity's hooves were aching from running through the snow to Sweet Apple Acres.  She was thinking, 'Oh why was I, of all ponies, chosen to go the farthest distance to see if Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack had made it back from the storm. These hooves are not meant for this type of work, the are meant to CREATE!' However Rarity also knew that she could not let down her friends, and continued onward despite the harsh conditions as fast as her delicate hooves could take her.

Derpy Hooves was flying around Ponyville to see if she could find anypony to help. As Derpy flew around however, she was not paying perfect attention to where she was going. This was causing her to quite often bump into things and break them. Even though she always apologized, ponies seemed to be inclined to always give her this look. It seemed to drill into her and make her feel unwelcome. It made Derpy feel sad as she flew along, looking at the ground now, thinking, 'I just want to help, why does nopony seem to like it when I help.' Suddenly she ran into something, and a large weight feel on her back pushing her to the ground. As Derpy tried to move she realized that she was covered in snow and could not move. The snow was simply to heavy for her to move an inch. All Derpy could do was cry out for help, hoping somepony would come along and save her.

Rarity had almost reached the rendezvous point after traveling for over an hour. She was now a little worried thinking to herself, 'I do hope my friends can forgive me for taking such a long time. Oh why can I not go any faster than a speed such as this!' As she reached the meeting place all she found was a note attached to the wall.

Rarity,

If you're reading this note then we simply did not wait long enough for you. I'm really sorry but we must go on to search for Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack out in the snow, there is simply no time to waste. Besides we need somepony to tell everypony what happened to us if we don't return from this snowstorm. Please Rarity don't come looking for us, we don't need another pony to find. We shall come back to your place once we return to let you know we are ok.

Rarity read over the note a few times before slowly turning around and walking back towards her place with her head held low. This was her possible her friends greatest time of need, yet there was nothing she could do for them. It made her feel so powerless. Fortunately Rarities house was near to the meeting place so she didn't have to go much further. Her hooves were in painfully tired at this point making rarity feel absolutely pathetic. She knew that even if she could find them, that she would probably only hold them back because she was unable to do anything because she could barley walk at this point. As she came up to her house Rarity heard a voice coming from the snow pile near her house. As she listened closely against the winter gale she could make out this barley audible voice saying, "help"

Derpy had no idea how long she had been under this snow pile. Her body from mane to tail was completely numb, and her vision was starting to go blurry. Then suddenly the snow was lifted off of her, and she was picked up by somepony or something. Because her vision was still blurry she could not see who her savior was, but she knew she could never repay whoever it was for saving her life.

Rarity took the gray Pegasus pony she had found in the snow into her home. She had seen her around, but had no idea what her name was. All Rarity knew was that she had to do something for her, because even though Rarity was lifting her by magic she could tell this pony was ice cold all the way through. She took the gray Pegasus to her home and immediately put a blanket over her. Rarity knew she would need to do more, but what should she do?

Meanwhile Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy were looking for Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash in the snowstorm. Although they had no idea where they were, they were well prepared with good and warm enchanted winter clothing. The clothes they had on had enchantments that made the clothes keep them warmer than normal winter clothes, and although these enchantments had there limitations they worked well enough that they could travel much more easily than they could before.

Fluttershy was still reprimanding herself over what she had almost done to Pinkie Pie earlier. Pinkie had been so nice, and yet Fluttershy felt that she had taken advantage of her. Fluttershy would have promised herself to never let something like that ever happen again, but Fluttershy was being honest with herself and she knew she could not control her feelings for Pinkie Pie forever. However Fluttershy swore to herself at that time to hold them in for as long as she could.

As the winter storm got worse and worse Twilight had a harder and harder time being able to see what was going on around her. As this began to get to the point she could not see a tree 3 feet away from her Twilight said, "Hey Girls lets try and stick close together, we do not want to get separated in a storm like this." As Twilight waited she did not get an answer, "Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie can you hear me? We need to" As she said this Twilight turned around and then noticed that they were no longer within her range of vision. Twilight just sat down at this point, realizing that her friends were no longer around and they were all probably completely lost and now with no way to go for help.

Fluttershy noticed as Pinkie Pie feel to the ground into the snow. Fluttershy immediately got worried thinking that she might be hurt. Fluttershy immediately rushed over to help her through the worsening storm. To Fluttershys immense relief Pinkie Pie stood up and shook herself off. Fluttershy asked, "Um, are you ok Pinkie?"  

Pinkie Pie stood up from the fall despite the pain that was shooting through her chest. It had been dully there from the time she had accidentally been launched through the air. Up until just then she had been able to ignore it, but the pain had just shot through her like a flash fire. As she did her best to shake the snow off herself Pinkie heard Fluttershy ask if she was ok. Pinkie immediately thought, 'With Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack lost in the snow storm because of me I cant possibly let the others know about this pain. It would cause the whole search operation to be slowed down to accommodate for me. I must take the pain until we find RD and AJ.' Pinkie Pie immediately tried to do her best to look like she usually does and responded, "I'm okey doki, we need to find RD and AJ so lets move it out!"

Fluttershy could not put her hoof on it but Pinkie suddenly just did not look right, there was something a little strained about how Pinkie Pie was acting. As Fluttershy was about to say something about this she noticed something that had surprised her, "Um Pinkie, where is Twilight?" Both girls looked around but Twilight Sparkle was nowhere to be found. Fluttershy got very scared at this point, "Oh no what happened to Twilight, Twilight where are you!" Fluttershy starting thinking, 'I should have been paying better attention to stay together, but now Twilights lost to. What will we do?'

As Fluttershy started to become more and more frantic Pinkie Pie knew she had to do something to calm her down. The recent memory of how Fluttershy felt was still fresh on her mind so Pinkie could not resist, she went over and hugged Fluttershy telling her, "Don't worry Fluttershy, I'm sure Twilight has some sort of spell to help her out." Pinkie Pie felt once again how soft Fluttershy felt and started to fall into it. Pinkie shook the feelings off and continued, "We just need to put our best effort into finding Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack and we are sure to meet up with Twilight at some point."

Pinkie Pie was once again hugging her, and Fluttershy felt the feelings she was trying to repress from surfacing. Fluttershy tried to move away but it just felt so good to be right there against Pinkie Pie feeling the warmth from Pinkie Pies body. The feeling Fluttershy got from being there with Pinkie Pie felt so good and she did not want to move away from there. However then Fluttershy thought of Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack and knew that she had to keep moving if she was to find them. Using all of the willpower within her body she managed to pull away from Pinkie Pie saying, "Your right Pinkie, all we need to do is just search for them and everything will be fine."

Pinkie Pie felt a mixture of relief and sadness as Fluttershy pulled away from her. Pinkie thought, 'Stop that Pinkie Pie your probably making Fluttershy feel really awkward with you getting this close to her so often. You have got to learn some self control!' After hearing Fluttershy agreeing that they should go look for the lose ponies Pinkie and Fluttershy, sticking close together but not too close, went off too look for them.

Fluttershy asked, "hey Pinkie do you have any idea where we are going?"

Pinkie Pie, grinning, responded, "Nope, but this directions is as good as any to start looking for them"

The cave in which Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash had taken shelter in had just continued to get colder and colder. They both could not feel anything anymore and their teeth where chattering uncontrollably. Both where raking their brains trying to figure out a way to keep them warm, but no ideas where coming to mind. As Apple Jacks vision was starting to blur she spoke for the first time in quite a while, "Hey RD, do you think the others will be able to find us in time? I'm so cold I cant even see strait one bit."

Rainbow Dash was having a hard time seeing as well, "I hope they will, because being frozen in a place like this is truly uncool." Rainbow Dash's mystery feelings were still a mystery and she thought, 'what is this feeling I'm having? I just have… what was I thinking about again? Oh man I cant even think strait, what will I do now?'

Apple Jack was also having thoughts about her own mystery feelings as well, 'what am I is this that I'm feeling besides this cold, I just have no idea what it is at all. This cold is so overpowering, so cold, cold, cold.' Apple Jack suddenly thought that she heard a noise coming from somewhere close by, she tried to move her head to look but she just didn't have the energy anymore. Apple Jack said to Rainbow Dash, ' Hey RD, do you hear something?"

Rainbow Dash responded, "Yah I hear something, but I have no idea what it is. I'm just so tired I think that ill" But Rainbow Dash never finished the sentence as she closed her eyes, unconscious in the cold. Rainbow Dash's last conscious thought before the world went dark was, ' I hope Apple Jack will be ok…"

Apple Jack heard RD go silent and said a little worried, "RD hey are you ok?" After waiting for a few seconds and getting no response she tried to turn her head to look a Rainbow Dash but she couldn't her energy was basically gone. As the world went black all she could think was, ' I hope Rainbow Dash will be ok…'

A while back Lyra had decided that the best thing she could do would be to just head off in a random direction and hope she found some shelter. As she trudged through the snow it just got colder and colder and the wind was not helping. She had to use her magic to grab some would off a tree to make a shield form the wind. Even though this blocked her vision of what was in front of her at least she could move without the wind making every step more difficult that it had to be. As she moved forward Lyra once again feel into memories of the past.

Once again in her minds eye Lyra saw the door that had been in front of her long ago. She had found the door to already be open so she had decided to slip inside to stall for more time before returning to where her father was. Inside she found a grand library, there was row upon row of books in every subject you could imagine. The ceiling in that library had been the highest ceiling she had ever seen, she remembered thinking the roof must have been so high to accommodate so many books. Lyra wondered through the maze of books in awe of the pure number of books that there had been in that one gigantic room.

As Lyra turned that last corner she reached what had apparently been the reading area and despite the fact that there were many seats there was only one little pony sitting in that area reading. The filly had a lavender coat, and her hair was dark indigo with streaks of purple and pink running through it. She had an absolute ridiculous amount of books around her some open some closed. She was so focused on her work that she seemed to not notice anything that was going on around her.

Lyra had suddenly felt a feeling in her heart that she had never felt before that moment. It was almost warm with a slight tinge of happiness and a sparkle of contentment. After a few moments just standing there looking at this filly Lyra just decided to leave the Library because of the weird effect that it seemed to have on her.

Once again Lyra's reminiscence was interrupted as she had just run into her own shield of wood, which had just run into a wall.  As Lyra looked around her shield she saw a huge amount of snow heading down towards her from above. On instinct Lyra put up a magical barrier that caused the snow to melt on contact. After the apparent avalanche had finished falling all around her Lyra took a moment to look around at her surroundings.

The first thing that Lyra noticed was that she had ran strait into a cliff, which had triggered the avalanche that had dropped that snow all around her. The avalanche had also created a wall of snow around Lyra not allowing her to move. Lyra just magically lifted herself to the next highest point on the mountain in order to get away from all that snow. When she landed half frozen she found the most welcoming of sites. There was a cave right in front of her that she could take shelter in from the winter storm. Lyra had carried the wood with her just in case she found something like this, so that way she could start a nice fire to keep herself warm until the storm subsided.

As Lyra entered the cave the first thing that she noticed was how cold it was, despite it being really cold outside this cave was somehow even colder than that. Lyra would have left if she had not noticed the two ponies that were on the ground in the cave. Lyra had seen them around Ponyville before, it was Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack the two ponies that Twilight Sparkle and her other friends where looking for right this very instant! Lyra thought, 'Oh wow I found the two that she is looking for; maybe I will finally be able to confess to Twilight how I feel about her. Lyra thought they were sleeping, but when she went to wake them up she felt that there bodies were way to cold. They were dying right there in front of Lyra, so thinking quickly Lyra made a quick fire using magic and the wood she had brought to keep and put it as close to those two ponies as she safely could.  As she sat down next to them all Lyra could do is pray that the fire would be enough to save Twilight Sparkles friends lives.
